According to the 2010 census, Atlanta has a total region of 1.268 square miles (3.28 km2), of which 1.26 square miles (3.26 km2) (or 99.37%) is territory and 0.008 square miles (0.02 km2) (or 0.63%) is water. As of the census of 2000, there were 1,649 citizens , 694 homeholds, and 469 families residing in the city.
